The State University of Trade and Economics consistently expands its international partnership, strengthening ties with the diplomatic corps. On October 31, 2025, the University hosted a high-level delegation from the Embassy of the Hellenic Republic in Ukraine.
This visit was no coincidence, as SUTE has long-standing and strong ties with the country. This is confirmed by several factors: a number of cooperation agreements have been concluded with more than ten Greek universities and colleges; our students regularly undergo internships in the hotels in Greece; and a SUTE delegation that returned from the Ionian University recently successfully completed its work.
The delegation of the Embassy was led by His Excellency, Mr. Pantelis Alexandros Dimitrakopoulos, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hellenic Republic to Ukraine.
The delegation also included:
Mr. Manolis Androulakis— Deputy Head of Mission, Counsellor of the Embassy.
Mr. Periklis Davanelos — Minister-Counsellor for Economic Affairs.
The delegation conducted substantive and fruitful negotiations with the University leadership, headed by Rector Anatolii Mazaraki. Joining the Rector at the negotiating table were Vice-Rectors Anzhelika Gerasymenko and Nataliia Prytulska, and Tamara Kortukova, Head of the International Relations Department.
The purpose of the visit was to discuss the prospects for bilateral cooperation in the fields of education, science, and culture.
During the negotiations, the parties thoroughly discussed a number of important initiatives, inter alia, student visit and internship opportunities at the Embassy of Greece in Ukraine, lectures by representatives of the Greek Embassy in Ukraine for SUTE students, study of the Greek language and culture based at SUTE, etc.
The representatives of the Embassy of the Hellenic Republic expressed high interest in developing academic ties with SUTE, acknowledging the professionalism of specialist training and the University’s significant educational achievements.
Following the successful meeting, the guests took a campus tour, highly evaluating its modern infrastructure.
The meeting confirmed the strategic importance of further strengthening Ukrainian-Greek partnership ties in the field of education and culture.
Tamara Kortukova,
Head of the International Relations Department
